Meet
the new president - DEAN RHEINBERGER
Dean Rheinberger was born in Mudgee and raised in
the small village of Wollar, along with his 2 sisters and
brother. Dean attended St Matthews Central School and on school
holidays would work on his grandfathers property as well as
a local property Telgash Station which would take him to showing
cattle on occasions. Also working at Wondoona Station for
Bruce Reid. Dean then went onto attend Tafe doing a Carperntry
and Joinery course which led him to be a qualified tradesman
for the past 13 years, he is well respected by his co workers.
Dean’s love for agriculture also took him to his love
for horses, along with his wife Esmay, son Campbell and daughter
Montana they run a small Clydesdale and Gypsy Cob Stud (Demore
Park) in the Kains Flat area. Dean and his family have been
showing the horses for the past 8 years. They show the Clydesdales
in harness, competing in surrounding Ag shows, Sydney Royal
and even as far as Melbourne Royal show where they competed
and won against the legendary Carlton United Brewery Team
as well as a few of the other well known and highly respected
teams with their pair of geldings.
In his role as President of Mudgee Show Society, Dean is looking
forward to working closely with MWRC to complete the improvements
to Mudgee showground and to make good use of the new structures
and developments made possible through MWRC. The new buildings
and improvements will help the Mudgee Show Society by making
things easier for exhibitors, patrons, members and showground
users throughout the year as well as at show time.
"It's time to turn around from all the negative feelings
towards the showground development and give families a reason
to come back to the show", says Mr Rheinberger. Over
the coming months, a multitude of community groups and special
interest groups will be contacted asking them for their input
at show time and an expression of interest will be circulated
to increase the number of attractions and activities held
at the 2011 Mudgee Show. Dean is passionate about the Mudgee
Show and the showground itself: "The Mudgee Showground
is dear to many of us. I want to bring the Mudgee Show back
to the community event it was when I was kid." |
