As
another year passes by and the 2012 Mudgee Show planning begins,
I’d like to welcome you to come along in March and enjoy
the attractions, the side show alley and, of course, the line
up of entertainment we have organised for this years show.
We are hoping for a dry show this year so we can all enjoy
our new facilities, and we hope you will join us in welcoming
Mr Russell Turner MP, to open the 2012 Mudgee Show on Saturday
March 3rd.
With this year being our 120th year for the Showgirl Competition,
we are very happy to be celebrating the 2012 Mudgee Showgirl
Ball in our new Main Pavilion on Saturday, 18th February where
the 2012 Mudgee Showgirl will be announced. We will also showcase
past Mudgee Showgirls from previous years, as well as the
2011 Miss Mudgee Showgirl, Bianca Stanford who won her Zone
Final and was a contestant in The Land Royal Sydney Showgirl
Competition. I encourage you all to be a part of the opening
of the Main pavilion and support our Showgirl Competition
and come along and enjoy a great night out.
Friday night will see the return of the Rodeo with a great
line up of cowboys and cowgirls to entertain us in the new
sand arena.
So bring your families out and join us in for a fantastic
weekend for the 2012 Mudgee Show.
Hope to see you there!

MISS
MUDGEE SHOWGIRL WELCOME
In November 2010 I was named the Miss Mudgee Showgirl
for 2011. Almost a year has passed and I have been honoured
with the opportunities that have been available to me.
I was involved in the organisation and running of the
2011 Mudgee Show in an intensive capacity. I was asked
to judge the Supreme Exhibit in the Main Pavilion, judge
the Junior Showgirl and to present ribbons in all areas
of the show. I was the special guest at the official
opening and the President’s lunch.
All of these opportunities
gave me the chance to interact with the community and
act as a role model for other young adults. |

On the 19th March 2011, I attended
the Zone 5 Finals for The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl Competition
in Maitland. I was exposed to a very professional, yet relaxed,
interview process with judges who can inspire and guide all
young adults. My guests and I had a wonderful night at a black
tie ball on one of the oldest dance floors in our country.
That night, along with Prue Neely of Singleton, I was named
the joint winner of the Zone 5 Showgirl Competition.
In the lead up to the Sydney Royal Show I was supported by
family, friends and the community. I have remained close friends
with many of the girls I have met through all three stages
of the showgirl competition. I keep in contact with these
girls to share ideas on our local shows, experiences and catch
up at various show-related functions throughout the year.
We shared many memorable moments together: We were special
guests at a cocktail party at Government House; and drank
champagne by the water where Prince William had stood just
weeks before. We met Marie Bashir, the Governor of NSW , and
even danced the Can-Can in a photo shoot with her! We were
presented as the 2011 State Finalists (the top 16 out of over
600 girls who entered across the state) at several formal
functions over our week in Sydney. There were also casual
days where we could wear our boots and get to know each of
the girls from all over NSW.
Through so many events and interaction with the Show and Showgirl
movement, I am trying to implement a little bit of all my
experiences in the Mudgee Showgirl competition for 2012.
At the Mudgee Show AGM for the 2011-12 Committee, I was nominated
as the Junior Vice President, Showgirl Coordinator and the
Publicity Officer. These roles have enabled me to restructure
the 2012 Showgirl Competition.
Please contact me of you wish to be a part of this prestigious
event, or enter in the competition to change your future.
